CHESTER – The Randolph County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the elderly male who died in a farm field off State Street in Chester Saturday.
Tracy L. Vallett issued this brief statement regarding the tragic incident:
“Jerry D. Wettig, 78 year-old male from Chester, was pronounced on June 21, 2025 at (6:49 p.m.) at the scene following an accident involving a tractor in a field near 3024 State Street in Chester, Ill. The accident is being investigated by the Randolph County Coroner and Chester Police Department. Cause of death is pending autopsy results.”
