STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve County School District R-II’s Transportation Department has received top honors for its commitment to safety and excellence.
The department earned the 2025 Fleet Excellence Award from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and achieved an impressive 97.6 percent pass rate on the Patrol’s annual bus inspection—far exceeding the statewide average of 82.96 percent.
Transportation Director Mr. Ken Jones credited the department’s success to the dedication of the entire team. He praised mechanics James and Cory, as well as Buck, Mary Ellen and Debbie, and all district bus drivers for their hard work in keeping buses running safely and looking their best.
“This recognition reflects the care and professionalism of our entire transportation staff,” Mr. Jones said. “Their attention to detail and commitment to student safety set a high standard for our district and our community.”
This year also marked a significant milestone: it was the first year the district fully integrated transportation services into its own operations, making the statewide recognition even more meaningful.
