PERRYVILLE – To ensure the most accessible polling location for the greatest number of voters, Perry County Election Authority is combining the Highland Precinct and Biehle Precinct beginning this August. Additionally, Belgique/Sereno Voters will now be casting their ballots at the Perryville Elks Lodge.
Voters who previously cast their ballots at the Highland Catholic Church Hall will now vote at the St. Maurus Parish Center in Biehle. The new polling location is:
St. Maurus Parish Center
10198 Highway B
Perryville, MO 63775
Voters who previously cast their ballots at the Our Lady of Victory Church in Sereno will now vote alongside voters from P-5 Precinct located at the Perryville Elks Lodge located at:
921 N Perryville Blvd.
Perryville MO 63775
This change is intended to serve as a responsible cost-saving measure. By consolidating polling operations, the County is better utilizing taxpayer dollars through reduced facility expenses and the ability to staff the precinct with fewer election judges.
“We are continuously evaluating ways to create cost savings and efficiency in our operations,” Perry County Clerk and Election Authority Jared Kutz explained, “and one of those ways is to merge precincts to reduce the overall per-voter cost while running an election. With the addition of “No Excuse Absentee Voting” voters can come directly to the courthouse two weeks before any election to cast a ballot when it is not possible or inconvenient for them to make it to their regular polling location on Election Day.”
The first election with the change of location will be August 4, 2026, Primary Election. Voters impacted by this move will be receiving a postcard notifying them of the change as well as a new voter registration card that will reflect their new polling location address.
Voters are encouraged to review their polling location prior to Election Day and plan accordingly.
Voters unable to make it to their polling location on the day of an election are reminded that absentee voting is available six weeks prior to any election. Absentee voting takes place in person at the Perry County Clerk’s office Perry County Courthouse located at 15 W Ste Maries St. Perryville MO 63775 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Absentee voting can also be done via mail. Information regarding absentee voting can be found online at https://perrycountymo.us/120/Absentee-Voting.
