JEFFERSON CITY — A 31-year-old Perryville man escaped injury in a traffic crash on I-55 north of Reavis Barracks Road in St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the man fell asleep at the wheel and his northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu struck the rear of a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic driven by a 38-year-old woman from Arnold. She had minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Affton Fire Department.
The patrol says both vehicles were traveling northon I-55.
The Malibu had moderate damage and was secured roadside and the Sonic had extensive damage and was towed by Miner’s Towing.
The crash happened about 6:55 a.m. Friday.
