JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 29-year-old Perryville man was one of two persons receiving minor injuries in a traffic crash Wednesday morning on the westbound I-70 in St. Louis County.
The Perryville man and a 50-year-old St. Louis woman who also had minor injuries, were both taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital by Northeast EMS.
According to the accident report a 2010 Toyota Camry driven by Perryville man failed to slow for traffic ahead and hit the rear of a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 46-year-old St. Louis man, causing the Jeep to run off the roadway striking the concrete median barrier.
A 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 72-year-old St. Louis woman attempted to stop for the crash but struck the rear of the Camry. A 2013 Cadillac driven by an 18-year-old Caseyville, Illinois man then hit the rear of the Sonata.
The Camry was a total loss and was towed by A-1 Towing. The Jeep had minor damage and was driven from the scene. The Sonata had minor damage and was secured roadside. The Cadillac had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
The crash happened about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday on I-70 west of Bermuda Avenue. All four drivers were buckled up.
