JEFFERSON CITY – A 19-year-old Perryville man escaped injury in a traffic crash Friday evening in Perry County.
The patrol’s report says the crash happened when a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by the Perryville man east on Route J failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Route 51. A 2007 Mazda 3 driven south on 51 by an 18-year-old Marble Hill man struck the Corolla in the left side.
The patrol says the Marble Hill man received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Perry in Perryville.
The patrol says the Perryville man was buckled up, but the Marble Hill man was not.
The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. at the junction of Highway 51 and Route J.
Both vehicles were a total loss and were removed by Ive’s Towing.
