These establishments play a vital role in supporting tourism, business travel, and community life, offering essential services to both residents and visitors.
St. Louis, Jackson, and St. Charles counties report the highest tourism-related revenues, which aligns with broader population trends, as these are also the three most populous counties in Missouri.
On the other end of the spectrum, Worth, Mercer, and Schuyler counties have the lowest revenues. Worth and Mercer rank as the least populated counties in the state, while Schuyler has the fourth smallest population.
