PERRYVILLE, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension in Perry County is helping Perry County residents get more comfortable with their smartphones by offering two free classes. On Tuesday, November 4, the Extension office will host Android Phone Basics at 10 a.m., followed by iPhone Basics at 1:30 p.m.
Both sessions will be held at the MU Extension office meeting room located at 321 North Main in Perryville.
These classes are designed for beginners or anyone looking to better understand the functions and features of their smartphones. Participants will learn how to:
Navigate basic settings
Connect to Wi-Fi
Send and receive messages
Download and use apps
Use safety and privacy features
“Smartphones are powerful tools, but they can be intimidating for those who haven’t grown up using them,” said Stephanie Schindler, MU Extension Specialist. “These classes are a great way to build confidence and learn how to use your phone to stay connected with family, manage daily tasks, and access helpful resources.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones fully charged. Each class is limited to 15 people, so early registration is recommended. To register or learn more, contact the University of Missouri Extension office in Perry County at 573-547-4504.
These classes are sponsored by the Perry County Extension Council, Senior Planet, Aging Matters, and the Perry County Senior Services Tax Commission and are free to Perry County residents 55 and older.
There is a $10 registration fee for nonresidents and those under 55.
