JEFFERSON CITY – Two 21-year-old Ste. Genevieve men died as a result of a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County at 9:37 a.m. Saturday morning.
One of the men was pronounced at the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the second had serious injuries and was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter.
Ste. Genevieve County Coroner Eric Basler Monday morning said the second occupant has also passed away.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened at the 154 mile marker when a northbound 2009 Pontiac G5 traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff, and overturned.
The patrol says the driver was buckled up, but the passenger was not.
The Pontiac had extensive damage and was towed by Ste. Genevieve County Towing.
