JEFFERSON CITY – A Farmington man died and 11 persons were hurt in a traffic crash Tuesday on Highway 221, in Iron County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 4:03 p.m. when a southbound 2008 Toyota Corolla crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2021 Ford Transit head-on.
The driver of the Toyota, a 51-year-old man from Farmington, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at 4:49 p.m. by Iron County Coroner Tim Harvison.
The driver of the Ford Transit, a 31-year-old woman from O’Fallon, was buckled up and sustained minor injuries. She was taken by EMS to Parkland Health Center in Farmiongton.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Adams Towing.

- 16-year-old boy with serious injuries, transported by Air Evac to Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis.
- 17-year-old boy with serious injuries, transported by EMS to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
- 14-year-old girl with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Iron County Medical Center.
- 15-year-old girl with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
- 16-year-old of unknown gender with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
- 16-year-old girl with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Iron County Medical Center.
- 17-year-old girl with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
- 17-year-old boy with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
- 17-year-old of unknown gender with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Iron County Medical Center.
- 18-year-old man with minor injuries, transported by EMS to Iron County Medical Center.
