MSHP promotes MAC graduate Gregory D. Primm

JEFFERSON CITY –  Missouri State Highway Patrol Superintendent Colonel Michael A. Turner, announces effective January 1, 2026, Lieutenant Gregory D. Primm will be promoted to the rank of captain and will serve as the commander of Troop A.

 

 

Primm was appointed to the Patrol on October 16, 2001, as a member of the 79th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 2, Platte County.

 

On August 1, 2009, he was promoted to corporal and transferred to Zone 4, serving the citizens of Clay County.

 

On December 1, 2010, Corporal Primm transferred from Zone 4 to Troop A’s Criminal Interdiction Team (now called Special Enforcement Interdiction Zone).

 

On November 1, 2013, Primm was promoted to sergeant and remained on the Criminal Interdiction Team.

 

On April 1, 2018, Primm transferred from Troop A to the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), Team 3.

 

He was assigned to the Kansas City Interdiction Task Force and the Kansas City Career Criminal Task Force.

 

On February 1, 2024, Primm was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred from the DDCC to Troop A Headquarters.

Captain Primm was born in Macon, Mo, and graduated from Macon High School in 1997.

 

He earned an associate in criminal justice degree from Mineral Area College, in Park Hills, Mo. in 2001.

 

In 2024, Captain Primm attended the Northwestern University School of Police and Command, where he was the recipient of the Kreml Award.

 

He is married to Amanda (Stattelman), and they have two children.
