JEFFERSON CITY – Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotions.
Sergeant Bryan J. Hamerle, Troop A, will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will transfer to the Human Resources Division, General Headquarters, where he will serve as an assistant director.
Hamerle was appointed to the Patrol on April 2, 2012, as a member of the 95th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 14, Bates County. On May 1, 2016, Hamerle transferred to Zone 3, Clay County. Hamerle was promoted to corporal on September 1, 2019, and transferred to Cass County. On June 1, 2021, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated as the supervisor of Zone 14, which serves Bates County.
Lt. Hamerle was born in Liberty, MO. He graduated from Liberty High School in 2007. Before joining the Patrol, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Lt. Hamerle is married to Rebecca (Vincent) Hamerle and they have a daughter.
Sergeant Dennis D. Mathes will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will transfer to the Professional Standards Division, General Headquarters.
Mathes was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2009, as a member of the 90th Recruit Class. After completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 10, Saline County. On November 1, 2014, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant supervisor of Zone 10. On April 29, 2019, he transferred to Troop F, Zone 17, at Lake of the Ozarks. Mathes was promoted to sergeant and was designated the supervisor of Zone 17 on March 1, 2024.
Lt. Mathes was born in Quincy, IL, and graduated in 2007 from Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka, MO. He attended Mineral Area College in Park Hills, MO, and graduated in 2009 with an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice. Lt. Mathes is married to Jaclyn (Otte), and they have three children.
