Mizzou Day at the state fair is Thursday, Aug 7

SEDALIA — Join us for a day of fun on Opening Day, sponsored by the University of Missouri, Thursday, Aug. 7, at the 2025 Missouri State Fair.

 

 

Visit Mizzou Central, open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, for hands-on educational activities and exhibits by Mizzou and MU Extension programs.

 

Missouri Soybean Association will feature their Soy Donuts and stop by Buck’s for Tiger Stripe Ice Cream.

 

University of Missouri Extension and Missouri Grown partner daily for cooking demonstrations featuring new recipes and new materials.

 

Special promotions and activities are planned for the day including: $7 gate admission all day, age 13+; $2 youth age 6-12

 

Opening Day discounts at select concessions and vendors

 

Opening Day Ceremony starting at 11 a.m., south of the Agriculture Building

 

Opening Day Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Missouri State Blvd.

Missouri Department of Conservation Day Friday, Aug 8

 

Join us to celebrate Missouri Department of Conservation Day on Friday, Aug. 8.

 

 

Don’t miss the aquaria filled with all sorts of aquatic creatures, and check out the exhibits on the fish, forests, and wildlife of Missouri.

 

You can also chat with conservation agents, biologists, and foresters, and kids can find great activities in the Xplor Zone.

 

Enjoy these free conservation-related programs on Aug. 8 at MDC’s outdoor pavilion:

 

Fish Fry: Staff will demonstrate how to cook and clean fish at MDC’s outdoor pavilion at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

 

Invasive Invaders: Starting at 10 a.m., join MDC and other partner groups at the MoDOT Highway Gardens for the Invasive Invaders displays and activities.

 

Xplor Zone: Visit the Xplor Zone with great activities just for kids from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

A visit to the Missouri Department of Conservation Building during your visit is a must any day of the 2025 Missouri State Fair, Aug. 7-17, in Sedalia.
