Sedalia, MO (September 8, 2026)—The public is invited to enjoy a special evening on the Missouri Prairie Foundation’s 40-acre Friendly Prairie on Saturday, October 3. Located 11 miles south of Sedalia, Friendly Prairie was purchased in 1969 and named for the historic use of the site as an informal stop for travelers. This welcoming legacy continues with this year’s festivities, which include free guided hikes, member election of board members, complimentary social hour, and optional barbecue dinner (for purchase). Tent camping will be available Saturday evening.
