JEFFERSON CITY – A new study reveals that Missouri has seen the sixth-highest nonfarm job growth in the nation from July 2024 to July 2025.
The research by global executive search firm Keller analyzed changes in nonfarm employment across U.S. states between July 2024 and July 2025, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The percentage increase was calculated to identify the states where job growth is fast.

Missouri ranks sixth with a 1.65 percent increase in nonfarm employment between July 2024 and July 2025, which is 0.66 percentage points above the national average of 0.99 percent. The Show-Me State saw jobs rise from 2,980,100 in 2024 to 3,029,400 in 2025, a gain of 49,300.
Looking at the study, a spokesperson from Keller commented,
“The findings underscore that job growth varies markedly across the country, with states like Missouri posting some of the strongest expansions. The national economy added millions of jobs overall, yet these top-ranking states clearly stand out for their faster-than-average growth.”

“Understanding these job trends is vital for workers, employers, and policymakers as they navigate an evolving labor market.”
