JEFFERSON CITY – A 34-year-old man from Maryland Heights was seriously injured in a traffic crash on I-55 in Perry County early Sunday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the man was taken to St. Francis Medical Center by a Mercy Perry ambulance.
The patrol says the crash happened when the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox the man was driving north on I-55 ran off the left side of the roadway and into the grass median, traveled down a ravine, across a creek and came to rest on the north side of the creek.
The patrol says the driver was unrestrained.
The Equinox received extensive damage and was removed by Boyd’s Towing.
The crash happened about 12:40 a.m. at the 128 mile marker.
