Margie J. DeWilde, 95, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Independence Care Center.
She was born June 14, 1931 in Perryville, MO to Raphael and Elta (Sutterer) Emmenderfer.
Margie and Homer “Jack” Abernathy were married on August 27, 1947 in Perrryville. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1986. She then married Albert DeWilde on November 22, 1991. He survives her in Perryville.
Margie and her first husband Jack owned the Park-et Restaurant and Perry Cafe. She later managed the dining room at the Knights of Columbus in Perryville.
Margie enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and taking trips to the casino. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She volunteered at the Seminary Picnic for many years and started the SV Elite Calendar Program
Additional survivors include her husband, Albert DeWilde; two sons, Jack (Barbara) Abernathy, Jimmy (MaDonna) Abernathy; two grandchildren, Dena (Randy) Preston, Scott (Jill) Abernathy; three great-grandchildren, Danielle (Dustin) Bishop, Grant Abernathy, Jenna Abernathy; one great-great grandchild, Melody Bishop.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jeanne Abernathy; five siblings, Eileen Lueders, Carol Brandel, Ray Emmenderfer, Gary Emmenderfer, Lee Emmenderfer.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 9:50 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, September , 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Fred Wandera C.M. officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Schools or Journey Hospice.
