A funeral mass will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 for 98-year-old Margaret E. Sternberg of Walsh, Illinois, who passed away at 8:05 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.
She was born November 29, 1927 to the late Albert and Mary (nee Kukarolo) Woll in Sparta, Illinois.
She married Glen E. Sternberg October 23, 1948, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta. Together, they built a life centered around faith and family until Glen preceded her in death on December 17, 2014.
A dedicated homemaker, Margaret poured her heart into caring for her family and maintaining a welcoming home. She was a faithful member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Walsh, Illinois. Outside of her devotion to her faith, she found great joy in gardening, cooking, tending to her flowers, and cheering on her favorite team as an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family.
