A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 for 85-year-old Lois Laverne Verseman of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 10, 1940 in to Darrell and Ada (Clifton) Wharton who both preceded her in death.
She and Arlin E. “Jim” Verseman were married October 31, 1959 in Perryville. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son: Deron (Kristie) Verseman of Perryville, MO; a daughter-in-law: Karen M. Verseman of Perryville, MO; two grandchildren: Ross Verseman of Perryville, MO, and Brooke Glaus of Kelso, MO; and two sisters, Doris Welker and Sharon Hoehn.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Mark Verseman; and two brothers: Loren Wharton and Ted Wharton.
Lois enjoyed keeping up her immaculate yard. She loved babies and had a big heart for her family. She made frequent trips to Wal-Mart, always getting things she needed and didn’t need. She never met a stranger.
She worked the majority of her life at Gilster-Mary-Lee as a lab tech for the cake plant.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Visitation will continue 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, Mo.
A funeral for 85-year-old Lois Laverne Verseman of Perryville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown with the Rev. John Hellwege officiating.
Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Crosstown.
Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
