LeRoy James Barnett Sr.

On December 13, 2025 LeRoy James Barnett Sr. passed away peacefully in his home in Perryville, Missouri.

LeRoy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 1st, 1946 to Levi Barnett Sr. & Mary Patricia Thomure

On July 3, 1993 he married Brenda Kirn and for the next 32 years they built a life together in Perryville, Missouri.

He retired from Mississippi Lime Co on March 27, 2009

LeRoy spent his life providing for his family. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed having a few beers at the Palomino and Baders with the guys from work. He enjoyed hunting, working in his garden and not chasing the chickens. His grandchildren were his everything and he cherished all time he could with them.

Those who are left to cherish LeRoy’s memory include his wife, Brenda, his 6 children: LeRoy (Janet) Barnett Jr; Christopher (Amber Crites) Barnett; Tyson (Kalynn) Kirn, all of Perryville, MO. Christina (Michael) Downen; Charlena (Jeff) Voudrie of Jackson, MO. and Adam Beckerman of Ste. Genevieve, MO. LeRoy was blessed with several grandchildren: Dalton Barnett, Taylor Barnett, Tryton (Nadia) Barnett, Teegan Barnett, Areonna Kirn, Westyn Kirn, Hadlee Kirn, Caidyn Downen, Serenity Sutter, Alana Sutter & Kye Voudrie;  Siblings: Thomas “Joe” (Linda) Barnett, Levi (Angela) Barnett, Ronald (Mary) Barnett, Donald (Rachael) Barnett all of St. Mary, MO. Linda (Bob) Boller of Crawford, IN. RoseMary (Denny) Greene of N. Salem, IN. Rosemarie (Steve) Bertchume of St. Louis, MO. Virginia (Mike) White of Ste. Genevieve, MO. Helen Sue (Don) Basler of Fredericktown, MO. And numerous nieces and nephews.                                                                                                                                                                                                

LeRoy is preceded in death by parents Levi Sr. & Mary Patricia Barnett, his son Jimmy Barnett, his daughter Misty Drake and his siblings Melvin Barnett, Glen Barnett, Norma Pilkin, Patricia Daniels & Sister-in-Law Margaret Barnett.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
