A memorial mass will be held at a later date for 92-year-old Lawrence F. Montroy of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 9:14 am, Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois.
He was born March 16, 1933 in Chester, Ill. to J. L. and Cecelia (nee Moskop) Montroy. They preceded him in death.
Lawrence married Patricia Patterson on June 14, 1978 in Chester, Illinois; she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter: Annette (Rob) Draves of Rockwood, IL, Lynn (Rob) Richardson of Hillsboro, MO; a sister: Betty Ann Reiss of Belleville, IL; three grandchildren: Randi (Tim) Kassel, Butch (Kate) Gordon and Samantha (Mason) Yankey; four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Vivienne Kassel and Gwen and Hailey Yankey; three nieces: Anna (John) O’Gara, Maria Reiss and Amy (Ron) Liefer; a nephew: Kim (Angela) Montroy; and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers.
He owned and operated Montroy Jewelry for 42 years in Chester, Illinois.
Lawrence was an avid bowler.
He was a member of the Bowlers Hall of Fame for his numerous 300 games.
Lawrence was a member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois.
It was Lawrence’s wishes to be cremated.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the Chester Senior Site and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home.
