Launching the Live Life Mission

Helping Service Members, Veterans, and Their Families Improve Wellness

[Jefferson City, MO] – The Department of Mental Health’s Veterans Services Program has launched the Live Life Mission, a new statewide wellness campaign created to help Missouri service members, veterans, and their families improve overall well-being through simple, realistic daily efforts.

Military-connected individuals often face stress, transitions, isolations, health challenges, financial strain, and other pressures that negatively affect their overall well-being. By focusing on realistic approaches, individuals can take charge of their wellness.

The Live Life Mission campaign highlights that meaningful change often begins with consistent actions that fit into everyday life. Individuals can take small steps toward improving well-being by adding activities from eight wellness groups into a daily routine.

“Many people want to improve their wellness but are not sure where to begin,” said Jon Sabala, Veterans Services Director. “The Live Life Mission shows that wellness doesn’t require big changes. By completing one easy activity at a time, people can build healthier habits that improve their quality of life.”

Participants will have access to:

  • Practical Small Steps activities from each wellness group.
  • A printable wellness tracker to help monitor progress.
  • Motivational email messages with practical tips and helpful tools.

This campaign is designed for adults, military-connected youth, service members, veterans, and family members, making it easy for everyone to participate at their own pace. Participation is free and available statewide by visiting the Live Life Mission webpage.
