Larry Wayne White

Larry Wayne White, 78, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his home.

 

He was born June 4, 1947, to Stanley Arthur White and Marie Audell (Blaylock) White-Lukefahr.

 

He and Erma Jean (Johnson) were married November 23, 1967, at Crossroads Methodist Church and are the parents of two sons, Greg (Michele) White and Eric (Nikki) White. Larry had six grandchildren; Elizabeth, Caleb, Cierra, Jacob, Kaitlyn, and Molly; and six great grandchildren.

 

Larry is a 1965 graduate of Perryville High School and 1970 graduate of University of Missouri St. Louis with a degree in Business Administration. He also received a degree from Southeast Missouri State University in Secondary Business Education.

 

Larry worked six years as a system analyst for The Daughters of Charity in St. Louis serving nine hospitals, over six different states. After working in farming and retail, Larry finished his career as Perry County Assessor for 24 years. He served as the Missouri State President of the Assessors’ Association in 2004.

 

Larry was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #133 and member of the Honor Guard and served as Chaplain.

 

Larry was a member of Calvary Church in Fredericktown, MO, where he taught an adult Sunday School class for 37 years. He also served on the Church board as a trustee.

 

Note… the above obituary was written by Larry (Dad). In honor of him, it was shared exactly as he worded it. Of course, Dad lived a much fuller life and accomplished more than he wrote in his obituary. But when asked about it by Mom, he told her that writing more than this would just be, “‘tootin’ my own horn.”.

Survivors include his wife, Erma White; mother Marie White-Lukefahr; two sons, Greg (Michele) White and Eric (Nikki) White; two brothers, Ray (Susan) White and Dennis (Vicki) White; one sister, Rhonda (Hank) Lopez.

 

He was preceded in death by his father Stanley Arthur White.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Sawyer officiating. 

 

Military Honors will be provided by Delta Team and American Legion #133.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
