Kentucky man seriously injured in I-55 crash in Perry County

JEFFERSON CITY — A 55-year-old man from Catlettsburg, Kentucky was seriously injured in a crash on I-55 in Perry County Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the man was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by a Mercy Perry ambulance.

 

According to the accident report, the man experienced a medical emergency while driving a 2021 Peterbilt north on I-55.

 

The report says the truck ran off the right side of the highway, struck a rock bluff and several trees.

 

The crash happened about 3:13 p.m. at mile marker 124.0.

 

The patrol says the truck was a total loss and was removed by Miners.

 

The patrol says the driver was buckled up.
