STE. GENEVIEVE – On July 24th, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Ste. Genevieve is hosting its monthly downtown Art Walk.
Come enjoy our historic downtown through the lens of the artists who live, work, and exhibit in the heartland region. Ten art studios and galleries within a six-block radius will open their doors, welcoming everyone to wander in and enjoy the art in a relaxed, open-house atmosphere.

Two Rivers Gallery at 73 N. Main Street has a long running show of the work of regional artist Bryan Haynes. Two Rivers has a featured exhibit of the work of local artist Lavetta Rhinehart. Stop in to experience a specially curated exhibit of Rhinehart’s landscapes, still lifes, and her signature gold-leaf technique.
Farther north on Main Street, Little Bohemia is a one-block makers district. At Music, Art, Love, proprietor Christine Alexander offers her own music themed art for sale and provides a community gathering spot focused on music, art, and love! This week local musician Samuel Nelson will be performing a free concert during the art walk. Nelson is a gifted young singer songwriter promoting his new CD release. Visual artist Mateo Standing Eagle will have work for sale as well.
At E.KLeK.TiX Studio and Gallery, artist Jean Rissover will be offering wine and conversation along with her original oil paintings. This month, Jean is hosting her “Biggest LITTLE Art Show in Town.” Browse through over 60 small and miniature oil paintings featuring Jean’s unique style.
Farther north, stop in to Only Child Originals and Rust Artisan shop where local artist Sam Conlon has been the anchor of this makers district for 24 years. At Rust Artisan shop there is also an array of local knit and crocheted items, handbags and clothing.
Keep going north to 199 N Main street to find CJoy Art Works. Artist Christina Joy Elsen works primarily in clay, creating intricate patterns on functional pottery. She hand builds animal shaped storage boxes and small mixed media sculptures. Christina joined the Little Bohemia district three months ago and would love to show you what she does.
At 123 Merchant Street, Pop of Color Artisan Boutique features the work of more than 30 local artisans. This month you will find a “Forever in Bloom Bar.” Artist Amy Figge will have small beaded flowers for sale and customers are invited to build their own flower arrangements.
