FARMINGTON – Deborah Carter, the Uplift Shelter Manager in Farmington for the East Missouri Action Agency, will be the Special Feature for the Tuesday, July 8 Women’s Connection Brunch.
The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Farmington Presbyterian Church, 403 W. Columbia St. from 9:15-11 a.m.
Having worked as a Victim/Court Advocate in North Carolina for 20 years, she has been at the Farmington Uplift Center for three years. During that time the center has assisted more than 700 unhoused clients with temporary shelter, meals, and case management.
Deborah said they currently have “Day Services” at the Farmington Outreach Office, where clients can come in and shower, do laundry and get a meal. These “Day Services” are available Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Laughter is a Medicine” is guest speaker Marilyn Garapolo from Plainfield , Ill., presentation.\
Her question to you is “When was the last time you had a good laugh?”
She will share her story of childhood dreams of traveling to real life.
Marilyn is committed to living in harmony with nature – -an avid gardener, she loves to help people find easy ways to grow vegetables and make healthier living choices. She will invite attendees to legally laugh together!
