Julie Ann Hurt

Julie Ann Hurt, 66, of Perryville, Missouri peacefully passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 4, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to Charles Walter and Patsy Lou (Andrews) Ochs.

Julie and Donald Hurt were married on November 16, 1985 at Saline Baptist Church, Minnith, MO. Donald survives in Perryville, MO

Professionally, Julie poured her heart into everything she did. For over 15 years, she worked as a retail sales associate in the furniture industry, where her kindness and attention to people’s needs made her unforgettable to customers and coworkers alike. Later in life, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Julie’s Hometown Diner, where she proudly served as owner and head chef. That diner wasn’t just a business-it was a gathering place, filled with laughter, comfort food, and the warmth of her hospitality. Her food fed bellies, but her presence fed souls.

Survivors include one son: Christopher Hurt of Perryville, MO and one daughter: Michele (Thomas) Mattison of Ste. Genevieve, MO; three brothers: Dennis (Diane) Dycus of Farmington, MO, Chuck (Debbie) Ochs of Perryville, MO, Mike (Rose) Ochs of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters: Sue (Jamie) Brotherton of Patton, MO, Laney (Chad) Perkins of Marble Hill, MO; four grandchildren: Kayla Edmond, Johnathon Edmond, Debbie (Josh) Papin and Ryker Mattison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson, Enzo.

Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, MO.

Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, MO.

Burial will be in Crossroads Methodist Cemetery in Bollinger County.
