Survived by: son: Earl (Michelle) Braun, son: Alvin (Janet) Braun, son: Wayne Braun, daughter: Mary (Bernard) Grieshaber, daughter: Linda (David) Drury, daughter: Judy (Scott) Schmieder, sister: June Mattingly, sister: Wanda Figge, brother: Vernon “Pat” Mattingly, sister: Dianne Fenwick, brother: Robert Mattingly, sister: Marilyn Clippard, special sister-in-law: Lucy Otte, special friend: Patti Deangelis, grandchildren: Ashley (Marty) Winslow, Andrew (Colleen) Braun, Abigail (Aiden) McGowen, Alison Braun, Jason (Jessica) Braun, Renee (Jeffrey) Adkins, Brandi (Samuel) Fredeking, Elise (Devin) Hattenhauer, Sally (Justin) Grieshaber, E’va Drury, Nathali Drury, Sean Schmieder, Sara Schmieder, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two husbands: Leo Braun and Emanuel Naeger; daughter: Arlene Braun; brother: Paul Mattingly; father, Robert Mattingly; and mother, Stella (Lawrence) Mattingly.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Joan was a very outdoorsy person, spending lots of time outside tending to her garden and with her cows, chickens, dogs, and cats. Her favorite dog “Cuddles” was well loved and was fed better than some people.
Joan loved farming, watching the crops grow and giving the boys advice on how she thought things should be done.
She loved her family dearly, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025 and 8-9:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.
A funeral for 84-year-old Joan A. Naeger will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zell, Mo.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Ozora, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph or Sacred Heart Catholic Churches.
