Jerry L. Walls, 87, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Holiday Residential Care Center, Perryville, Missouri.
He was born to the late Jesse and Faye (nee Conner) Walls on February 4, 1938 in Riley Lake, Illinois.
Jerry married Rose Ann Wunderlich on September 1, 1958 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2022.
Survivors: three sons: Tim (Sharon) Walls of Chester, IL, Dan (Gail) Walls of Chester, IL and Gary (Sandy) Walls Evansville, IL; three grandchildren: Robert (Katie) Walls, Erica Walls and Daniel (Sarah) Walls and four great grandchildren: Dylan McClelland, Ashlynn Young, Noah Walls and Violet Walls.
He was also preceded in death by a twin brother: Tom Walls and a granddaughter: Becky McClelland
He had worked for the United States Department of Defense for 32 years.
Jerry was also the mayor of Ellis Grove for 18 years.
Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois.
He enjoyed golfing and camping with his wife. The couple had camped in all of the lower 48 states.
Jerry never met a stranger and could always talk to anyone that he met.
It was Jerry’s wish to be cremated.
