Jeff Ursch passed away Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
He was born on September 7th, 1949, in Alton, IL to Gene and Dorothy (Davidson) Ursch.
Jeff is survived by his son: Nathan Ursch and Brin, and grandsons: Ronan, and Thoren whom Jeff dearly loved. Other survivors include his sister: Debbie Sorbie, nieces: Adrianne, Natalie, and their families; his brother: Matt and Leah Ursch; aunts Linda Eisenreich and Carol Sawyer; special friend JoAnn Mitzel and their shared grandsons Tyler, Landon, and Carter Tindall and a host of cousins and friends.
He graduated with the class of 1967 from Alton High School.
Jeff inherited from his father, Gene, an intense interest in antiques and history. He found his first arrowhead in Wood River Creek at the age of five. He was hooked!
From his mother, Dorothy, Jeff inherited her musical abilities.
Jeff was self-taught in art and antique restoration.
He returned the beauty and life to 100’s of damaged paintings and antiques over the years. Friends would describe Jeff as the most talented artist they knew.
Jeff was a decorated Vietnam Vet receiving the Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and the Air Medal.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Jefferson barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. on Thursday, August 28th at 10:30 a.m.
