HILLSBORO, MO — Jefferson College’s Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program has earned top statewide honors, ranking as the #1 performing program in Missouri for Measurable Skill Gains (MSG). Adding to this institutional milestone, AEL Director Julie Johns has been named Outstanding MAACCE Member of the Year by the Missouri Association for Adult Continuing and Community Education.
The #1 ranking in Measurable Skill Gains reflects the program’s exceptional success in helping adult learners achieve tangible academic progress, prepare for high school equivalency exams, improve English language skills, and advance into higher education or workforce training.
“This ranking is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of both our learners and our outstanding staff,” said Julie Johns, Director of Adult Education and Literacy. “Our mission is to create accessible, supportive pathways that empower individuals to reach their personal and professional goals. Being recognized statewide reinforces the value and impact of what we do every single day.”
Johns’ individual recognition as MAACCE Outstanding Member of the Year highlights her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to adult education across the state. The annual award recognizes a professional who demonstrates exceptional service to learners, active involvement in community initiatives, and dedication to advancing the field of continuing education.
