HILLSBORO, Mo. — Jefferson College is proud to announce that Associate Professor of Economics Bruce Korbesmeyer has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. The long-standing annual program honors instructors throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area who are selected by their school administration for their commendable dedication and profound impact to their students and school community.
Chris DeGeare, vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer at Jefferson College, said Korbesmeyer exemplifies the college’s mission through both his teaching and campus involvement.
“Professor Korbesmeyer is a skilled economist, but more significantly, he cares deeply for his students. He seeks their feedback and uses it to continuously improve his instruction. He also serves the college through work with committees, club advising, and the faculty association. Bruce is very deserving of this award, and we are all very proud of him.”
Emerson has been presenting the Excellence in Teaching Awards annually since 1989.
