Jean L. Lewis

A funeral will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 for 96-year-old Jean L. Lewis of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 4:30 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.

 

She was born November 26, 1928 in Red Bud, Illinois to John and Gertrude (nee Hagan) Roscow who both preceded her in death.

 

Jean married Robert “Bob” F. Lewis on May 13, 1950 in Red Bud, Illinois; he preceded her in death on April 13, 1996.

 

She is survived by two children: Linda (Kenneth) Glaenzer of Waterloo, Ill. and Dr. John T. Lewis of Bloomington, Ill.; two grandchildren: Daniel Glaenzer and Sharon (Ryan) Breiner; five great grandchildren: Trent Glaenzer, Brynn Glaenzer, Quinn Breiner, Will Breiner and Jack Breiner

and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Albert, Clifford “Pete” and Arthur Roscow.

 

She had worked as a secretary at North County Savings Bank in Evansville for more than 20 years.

 

Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois. She was also a member of the Senior Circle, Red Bud Women’s Club and the hospital auxiliary.

 

Jean enjoyed camping, fishing and playing bingo.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud, Illinois.

Interment will be in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
