Jacqueline Kuhrtz Jones

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 for 80-year-old Jacqueline Kuhrtz Jones of Clinton, Mississippi, who passed away unexpectedly, at 12:36 pm, Monday, June 9, 2025.

She was born May 25, 1945 in Red Bud, Illinois, to Dr. Kenneth L. and Pauline (nee Messamore) Kuhrtz who both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two daughters: Leslie C Jones of Summit, Miss. and Molly M. Jones of Brookhaven Miss., a bonus son, Charles Williams of Clinton, Miss., a brother: K.T, Kuhrtz of Hattiesburg, Miss.; three grandchildren: Whitney Jones, Nathan Bass and Justin (Alissa) Breaux, and two great-granddaughters, Adalynn and Aubree.

Jacqueline was a graduate of Chester High School and the University of Illinois, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta PI sorority.

She was a devoted teacher, who taught her first year in Red Bud, Illinois before moving to Mississippi where she retired from Clinton High School, in Clinton, Mississippi, after teaching for forty years.

Jacqueline lived life fully, laughed often and lived fiercely. She was an avid reader, armchair Jeopardy champ and word puzzle genius.

She loved her Illini football, globetrotting and spending endless hours decorating her home for holidays, especially Christmas. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and former students.

A graveside service for 80-year-old Jacqueline Kuhrtz Jones of Clinton, Mississippi will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 16, 2025 at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four C’s in Clinton, Miss. or The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League in Brookhaven, Miss.
