Gateway Region YMCA celebrates renovations and expanded programming of Ste. Genevieve County YMCA with rededication

STE. GENEVIEVE  The Gateway Region YMCA had a rededication ceremony of the Ste. Genevieve County YMCA this morning. The event marked the celebration of the Ys investment in providing more programs and services to the Ste. Genevieve community.

 

 

“The rededication represents more than just physical upgrades; it is the realization of a multi-year vision to deepen our impact in Ste. Genevieve County,” said Tim Helm, president and CEO of the Gateway Region YMCA. “Our investments are focused on creating spaces and programs where families, youth, and seniors can thrive.”

 

 

The full list of renovations and enhancements at the Ste. Genevieve County Y include:

 

Added Child Watch: Parents and guardians can feel confident their children are in a safe and nurturing environment while they workout.

 

Expanded Health, Wellness and Fitness Offerings: Includes new fitness equipment, functional training area with turf, access to nationally-certified personal trainers and wellness coaches, blood pressure selfmonitoring class, nutrition counseling, and other wellness education programs.

 

Enhanced Programming: The aquatics department expanded its trusted swim lesson curriculum to reach more children and build vital water safety skills, while other new initiatives provide teens with safe, engaging, and constructive activities. Summer day camp now has new enrichment features, including specialized summer reading and literacy programs, and visits to the RiverRapids Waterpark.

 

 

Coming Soon to the YMCA

The Y is already preparing to roll out even more services to meet the diverse needs of the Ste. Genevieve community later this year:

 

·Off-Season Sports Team Training: Specialized training programs designed for area sports teams looking to maintain their edge when not in active season.
  • Active Older Adult (AOA) Socials:An expanded calendar of social opportunities, gatherings, and             events specifically tailored for active older adults.

 

  • Preschool Gymnastics & Dance:Brand-new youth enrichment classes launching this fall to introduce             young children to movement, rhythm, and coordination.
