French students celebrate Mardi Gras with hands-on classroom activities

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve High School and Ste. Genevieve Middle School French students brought the spirit of Mardi Gras into the classroom on Monday, Feb. 17, with a full-day celebration in Mme. Bre Uzzell’s classroom!

Throughout the day, students learned about Mardi Gras traditions while participating in hands-on activities such as mask making and bead crafts. Each class also shared a King Cake, a traditional Mardi Gras dessert that contains a small baby figurine baked inside. The student who found the baby in their slice was crowned the next “king” for the year!

The celebration provides an engaging way for students to explore French language and culture while enjoying a fun, creative learning experience.
