DONIPHAN, Mo. – The Missouri Invasive Plant Council (MoIP) is offering a free training on invasive plant management to support local landowners and agencies on Friday, September 19 in Doniphan, Missouri. The training will include information on identification and control of a wide range of invasive plant species and guidance in navigating cost-share opportunities for funding invasive plant control on private property. The workshop, which will begin at 10:00 and end at 3:00, will include classroom instruction and a field component. Lunch will be provided. To register, email lilly@moprairie.org or call 314-390-5035.
“Invasive plant species severely impact forestry, livestock, and recreational economies in Missouri,” said Carol Davit, MoIP Chair. “The early detection and control of these species is key in preventing their spread, and private landowners play a key role in this important work. This training is being offered to support private landowners in these efforts.”
This workshop is made possible thanks to funding from the L-A-D Foundation.
MoIP is a multi-agency, multi-industry networking and advocacy group to bolster statewide efforts to identify and control the invasive plant species that severely impact several sectors of the Missouri economy and native biodiversity. See the MoIP webpage at moinvasives.org for detailed guides on the management of specific invasive plant species and other resources.
