Fr. William E. Hartenbach C.M., 88, of Perryville, Missouri entered into eternal rest Friday, November 21, 2025 at Mercy Hospital Perry.
He was born October 13, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to William John and Dorothy Marie (Kubasch) Hartenbach.
Fr. William Hartenbach C.M. was a Roman Catholic Priest and member of the Congregation of the Mission. He entered the Novitiate at St. Mary’s of the Barrens, Perryville on December 7, 1955. He professed vows at St. Mary’s of the Barrens on December 8, 1960 and was ordained a Priest at St. Mary’s of the Barrens, Perryville May 24, 1964. Fr. William Hartenbach C.M. served as Provincial of the Midwest Province for six years.
Survivors include a sister, Nancy (Tom) McCue of Spring, Tex.; a good friend: Cindy Goforth of Piedmont, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James Hartenbach, and Thomas Hartenbach.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville with the Rev. Michael Joyce C.M. Officiating.
Burial will be at the Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Congregation of the Mission.
