Fourth Friday Art Walk will be held September 26

STE GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve’s 4th Friday Art Walk will take place September 26, with eight galleries open for the event.

On the Courthouse Square the Sainte Genevieve Art Guild will have a special “sneak peek” viewing of a new piece of art from the upcoming Promenade des Arts exhibit titled “Three Generations of Artistic Inspiration.” The Promenade event will open with a reception at 6pm October 17th. Organizers say the member exhibit of over 100 pieces from local artists will provide additional “inspiration.”

In the same neighborhood Silver Sycamore Gallery will have an array of new affordable gift items to jump start your Christmas shopping — from exquisite pumpkin necklaces to unique but practical pottery pieces. Guests are invited to “stop in and stay awhile!”

Around the corner ASL Pewter will feature its amazing, elegant display of handmade pewter pieces…and maybe a demonstration of the process by master craftsman Tom.

La Petite Fleur gallery at 185 Market will be re-open during the Art walk. Drinks and light snacks will be available. Owners say they are “looking forward to seeing you in downtown Ste. Genevieve!”

On N. Main Street Two Rivers Gallery will be showing two original portraits dating from the early 1800s and believed to be of founding members of the Valle family, along with art by Bryan Haynes. Visitors are invited to help identify the subjects of the antique paintings.

Music Art Love in the 100 block of N. Main will have free live music by Stephen Kemper. Featured artists for the event are Laura Kemper and Paul Royer.

Across the street a special exhibit of art inspired by Ste. Genevieve’s French history will be on display at E•KLeK•TiX gallery in recognition of the Foundation for Restoration’s annual history conference. Other art by J Rissover, including several new paintings, also will be on display.

In the same block both Only Child Originals and Rust will feature art by Sam Conlon and other talented local crafters.

The Art Walk is open to everyone. Most activities are free.
