PERRYVILLE – Here we have our local newspaper reporting my resignation of the Perry County hospital board and also the Perry County health board. Ironically, no one from our local newspaper ever reached out to me for comment.

Reporters from surrounding areas did, but there appears to have been no genuine effort to provide fair and balanced local representation. Instead, only minimal portions of my public statement were used while the local newspaper chose to interview the very individuals at the center of the concerns that contributed to my decision in leaving the boards in the first place.

Once again, the platform has only been given to those who seem to believe ,they alone, should control the direction of our community…. Bottom line, the public Deserves the truth!!! Not journalism that refuses to seek all sides of the story in reporting on matters that affect this entire community!!

Please excuse me if my post sounds a little unpolished. I just ended two board positions that I have dedicated the last four years of my life to, in protecting others with honesty, truth and doing good without any special interest or focus on myself. Yet this paper totally bi passes the direct source of my leaving!

Perhaps it is that they don’t want the truth of my reasons to be known or perhaps they have always misled the community through their one sided, manipulated journalism?

I have spent the last 4 years being micromanaged, bullied, sexually harassed, stonewalled, strong armed, publicly shamed, assigned degrading names regarding my faith in God, stalked, followed, mocked during board meetings by other board members and portions by our county government body whom, at times , were even suspected as being under the influence. This is my personal experience. This is what we have dealt with over and over for asking the wrong questions, for doing our job of basic oversight. I am the one who was placed into these two important positions by “you” the voters yet I have been hindered from doing my job.

I’m tired folks! There are serious issues that have occurred with our hospital, I think that should be obvious by now. If nothing else, just the actions and behavior would indicate this….. but there’s more. A heck of a lot more.

Just because it appears that we are moving on with their newly appointed, selected members that either don’t know or choose not to tell…. Doesn’t mean these problems don’t exist. Of course, everything will seem a whole lot smoother when they select their own and hand them all a pair of rose colored glasses to put on. No one sees anything here!

I have been given several reasons to believe that our local government is failing its people and I REFUSE to have a hand in it nor will I participate in a status quo, “monkey see/ monkey do” boys club operation!

As a Christian, I take my role in leadership very seriously. We are to protect our residents, properties, safety and happiness. There are serious consequences for those who do wrong against God’s children.

To my constituents whom I was accused of “turning my back on” by the county clerk……..It was never MY battle! It was a season that I was called in to and now I am being called out of. I am not the judge of any of it but I certainly know the ONE who is and I will never abandon my principles and convictions to HIM in serving with others who are doing wrong against this community and NEVER will I abandon what I am called to do by HIM in obedience.

For now, my direction is my family who deserves more of me.

I will leave you with this scripture :

Psalm 2:11

“Now, therefore, oh Kings, be wise, be warned, all rulers of the Earth and serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling”
