Dr. Hilbert’s class brings the Winter Olympics to life

STE. GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve Elementary students in Dr. Whitney Hilbert’s class spent a day exploring the excitement of the Winter Olympics by learning about different winter sports and the many countries that participate.

To end their day, students held their own mini opening ceremony and carried an “Olympic torch” through the halls of the school. The torch walk began in their hallway at 2:15 p.m., traveled past the library and through the cafeteria, up the ramp, down the first- and second-grade hallway, through the third-grade hallway, and back to their classroom.

The special activity gave students a fun, hands-on way to celebrate the Olympics while learning about teamwork, perseverance and trying their best!
