Douglas Andrew Miller passed away peacefully at Barnes Jewish Hospital on September 13, 2025, at the age of 76 after a hard battle with Cancer.
Born in Bismarck, MO on November 12, 1948 to Anzel and Geneva (Jaycox) Miller.
He was a devoted husband to Janet (Schmidt) Miller for 51 years, and a loving father to April (Miller) Luvin.
After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, he had a successful career of 37 years with Union Pacific Railroad, as a Senior Claims Representative. He instilled in his daughter and grandsons the importance of hard work and doing what is right.
Beyond his professional achievements, Douglas Andrew Miller, enjoyed traveling with his family. He cherished spending time with his grandsons, especially the trips to Florida with his family. When at home he loved his house full of cats. He was a true role model, leaving a lasting legacy of love and dedication.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Schmidt) Miller; his daughter, April (Mike) Luvin, of Weldon Springs, MO; his grandchildren, Connor Michael and Andrew Douglas; and siblings David (Jan) Miller of Salina, KS, and Edward Miller of Sikeston, MO, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews (11), great nieces and nephews (22).
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-in-law (Barbara and Debbie), brother-in-law (Michael), nieces/nephew (2).
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, MO and will continue from 8:00 am to 10:30 am on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am Friday, September 19, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, MO with Rev. Christopher Seah officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary in Jackson, MO.
