Donna Jean Tarrillion, 82, of Perryville, Missouri passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, MO with her family by her side.
She was born October 26, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Roland and Alma (Meyer) Rehmer.
Donna and Kenneth J. Tarrillion were married November 28, 1992 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2023.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
She was a proud alumni of Chester High School Class of 1960 and worked as a Vocational Instructor at Chester Mental Health Center until her retirement.
Donna’s infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor often made her the life of the party. She loved playing cards, games, and Bingo with family and friends. When her daughters were young, she was often involved in their activities. She was a Girl Scout leader, softball coach, and Sunday School teacher. She helped organize and create fundraisers for St. John Lutheran School’s Parent Teacher League in Chester. Two of these events (the Christmas Bazaar and Spaghetti Dinner) have continued annually since her involvement in the 1970s. She volunteered in her community with organizations like the local Eagles Club, Chester Running Club, and food pantry to name a few. The last years of Donna’s life were spent at Ste. Genevieve Care Center where she loved to participate in the activities offered by their amazing activity staff.
As her family mourns the loss of their beloved mother and grandmother who was affectionately known to them as “Nanny,” they find great comfort knowing she is now in the arms of her Savior.
