Criminal charges have been filed in connection with rural Prairie Du Rocher burglary

CHESTER – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has reported the filing of charges in connection with a burglary in rural Prairie du Rocher.

 

According to a news release, Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies were called in early March to investigate a burglary on Buzzard Rock Road in rural Prairie Du Rocher.

 

Detectives identified a possible suspect which led them into adjacent Monroe County.

 

While coordinating with investigators there, it was learned that the alleged suspect vehicle was also used in a residential burglary in rural Monroe County.

 

On March 6th, investigators with the Randolph and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence and property in the 1300 block of Carr Road in rural Monroe County. A second search warrant was served on the alleged vehicle used in both incidents.

 

During the execution of the search warrants two individuals were taken into custody and several items believed to have been stolen from the burglaries were recovered.

Jacob Brewer

 

On March 7th, the Monroe County States Attorney’s Office issued charges in connection with the March 5th residential burglary in Monroe County on 32-year-old Britany B. Rodenberg and 40-year-old Jacob A. Brewer.

 

Rodenberg was released from custody pending a future court appearance under the Illinois SAFE-T Act.

 

Brewer remained in custody at the Monroe County Jail.

 

On March 19th, Randolph County States Attorney Christopher Koenaman filed additional charges against Rodenberg and  Brewer for Burglary, a Class 2 Felony

 

Rodenberg was taken into custody on March 24th by Monroe County Authorities. Brewer was already being held at the Monroe County Jail.

 

Sheriff Jarrod Peters thanked the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in this case.
