CAPE GIRARDEAU – A Republican candidate for the Eighth Congressional District in Missouri, Gordon Heslop, is urging the immediate deportation of a Canadian-Egyptian scholar: Mohamed Abdou.
Heslop notes that Abdou was a visiting scholar at Columbia University for the Spring 2024 semester. He was fired for his comments on the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, saying he was “with Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad”. He self identifies as an anarchist.
“He is now on a campus tour he calls Death to the Akademy. Among his comments to students, he has said “be proud of your hate for America” and “you love Islam and you should be loving Islam more than this barbarous colony. It’s a plague upon the earth”.
“We cannot be tolerant of intolerance and should never allow foreigners to campaign within the U.S. for the destruction of our nation and way of life. When we are deporting illegal immigrants who are simply working here, we certainly should immediately deport people like Abdou who seek our destruction.”
Heslop is challenging incumbent 8th District Congressman Jason Smith in the August primary election.
