STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve School District R-II has announced Ste. Genevieve Elementary School Principal Dr. Nanya Gegg has been named the 2026 Distinguished Principal for the Southeast Region by the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP).

In a news release, the district stated “This honor celebrates her steady leadership, her commitment to students and families, and the positive culture she continues to nurture at Ste. Genevieve Elementary. Dr. Gegg is known for her student-centered approach, strong relationships with staff and families, and dedication to helping every child grow.”
Dr. Gegg began her career in public education in 1998.
She joined Ste. Genevieve School District in 2012.
She served five years as Ste. Genevieve Elementary assistant principal and has been the school’s principal for five and half years.
She was named the MAESP Southeast Region Outstanding Assistant Principal in 2020.
She hold degrees from SEMO, Webster University and William Woods University, including her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Gegg will be formally recognized at the 2026 MAESP Leadership Conference in Osage Beach in February.
