Chester Lady Jackets will open IHSA Class 2A Regional play Monday February 16 at Herrin

No. 4 Chester will face No. 5 West Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. in Herrin Regional

CHESTER – The 2026 IHSA Class 2A Regional Basketball Tournament kicks off Saturday February 14 with Regional Quarter-finals, followed by Regional Semi-Finals Monday February 16 and Regional Finals Thursday February 18. 

This year the Chester High School Lady Jackets are seeded No.4 and will face No. 5 West Frankfort.

Upper Bracket

Herrin Regional

Regional Quarter-Finals (at DuQuoin) Saturday February 14

Game 1: No. 8 DuQuoin vs No. 9 Herrin 11 a.m. Saturday February 14

Regional Quarter-Finals kick off Saturday February 14 with No.8 DuQuoin hosting No.9 Herrin at 11 a.m. at DuQuoin. The winner of that quarterfinal game will advance to face No.1 Benton Monday February 16 at 6 p.m. at Herrin in the Regional Semi-Finals.

Regional Semi-Finals (at Herrin) Monday February 16

Game 2: Monday February 16 at 6 p.m.

No. 1 Benton will host the winner of the Regional Quarter-Final game between No. 8 DuQuoin and No. 9 Herrin. Tip-off is 6 p.m.

Game 3: Monday February 16 at 7:30 p.m.

No. 4 Chester will host No. 5 West Frankfort at Herrin at 7:30 p.m.

Regional Finals (at Herrin) Thursday February 18

Game 4: Thursday February 18 at 6:30 p.m.

The Regional Championship game will be played Thursday February 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Herrin High School. The winner of the No. 1 Benton vs DuQuoin or Herrin Semi-Final game will face the winner of the No. 4 Chester vs No. 5 West Frankfort Semi-Final game for the championship.

The winner of the Herrin Regional will face the winner of the Breese Central Regional in the Chester Sectional Semi-Finals Tuesday February 24 at 6 p.m.

The Chester Sectional Championship game will be held Thursday February 26 at 6 p.m. in Chester High School’s Colbert Memorial Gymnasium.

Breese Central Regional

Teams in the Breese Central include: No. 7 Columbia, No. 10 Greenville, No. 2 Breese Central, No. 3 Breese Meter Dei, and No. 6 Trenton-Wesclin.

Lower Bracket

Freeburg Regional

Teams in the Freeburg Regional include: No. 8 Red Bud, No. 9 Belleville Althoff, No. 1 Nashville, No. 4 Freeburg, and No. 5 Pinckneyville.

Vienna Regional

Teams in the Vienna Regional include: No. 7 Anna-Jonesboro, No. 10 Johnston City, No 6 Carterville, No. 11 Murphysboro, No. 2 Vienna, and No. 3 Metropolis-Massac County.

The winners of the Freeburg Regional and the Vienna Regional will face off Tuesday February 24 in the Chester Sectional Semi-Finals.

The Sectional Finals will take place Thursday February 26 at 6 p.m. in Chester High School’s Colbert Memorial Gymnasium.
