Chester Lady Jackets place 4th out of 16 teams at Class 1A Sectional Track and Field Meet

Jessica Stumpe and Joella Eggemeyer advance to 2025 IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet

CHESTER Chester High School hosted the 2025 IHSA Class 1A Sectional Track and Field Meet Thursday May 15 at the Dr. Charles R. Young Track and Field Complex. Out of 16 participating teams, the Lady YellowJackets placed 4^th overall and qualified two Lady Jackets to advance to the 2025 IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet.

Athletes can qualify to advance to the State Meet by finishing either 1^st or 2^nd in an event or by meeting pre-set qualification performances.

Jessica Stumpe, a junior, advanced in the Pole Vault with her vault of 2.39 m. She earned the automatic honor by finishing 2^nd in that event.

Chester sophomore Joella Eggemeyer placed 2nd in the 200M Run Thursday May 15th at the Chester Sectional Meet with her time of 27.76. Her finish qualified her to advance to the 2025 IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet in that event. Jim Beers Photo

RESULTS

The Lady Jackets had athletes finish in 16 of 18 events. Of those events, six were individual events; four were relays; and six were field events. Finishes ranged from 2^nd to 21^st. Numbers in each range included: 2^nd (2), 3^rd (1), 4^th (2), 5^th (3), 6^th (1), 7^th (3), 9^th (1), 10^th (3), 12^th (1), 13^th (2), 16^TH (1), 17^TH (2), 18^TH (1), 19^TH (1), AND 21^ST (1).

Individual Running Events * Qualified for State

100 Meters: Joella Eggemeyer (5^th, 13.62) and Hailey Yankey (13^th, 14.74)

200 Meters: * Joella Eggemeyer (2^nd, 27.76) and Hailey Yankey (18^th, 30.44 PR)

400 Meters: Madalyn Hurst-Roy (5^th, 1:11.75) and Carlee Cato (10^th, 1:15.75)

800 Meters: Kylee Kempfer (21^st, 3:22)

100 Meter Hurdles: Erin Liefer (10th, 20.88)
