CHESTER – Chester High School Head Football Coach, Billy Belton, has announced his Week 7 “Special Teams” player of the week and his “Practice Player” of the week. This new program has been active weekly and sponsored by Korando Heating and Cooling of Chester, and Knight Hawk Coal, LLC.
Each week Belton and his staff select two players to be recognized and honored. The first award recognizes the best “Special Teams” player of the week and the second award recognizes the best “Practice Player” or “Scout Team” Player of the Week.
Belton is proud to announce award winners for Week 7 of the 2025 YellowJacket Football season.
Korando Heating and Cooling “Special Teams” Player of the Week: #59 Jackie Bess
Coach Belton said, “Jackie spoiled an on-side kick attempt from the Wesclin Warriors. It was a big spot in the game and his performance put an end to their advance. For his efforts, Jackie is the Week 7 Special Teams Player of the Week. Jackie Bess (#59), a junior, is a 6’3”, 230 lb. offensive lineman and defensive lineman.
“Knight Hawk Coal, LLC “Practice Player” of the Week: # 13 Anthony Keeton
Coach Belton said, “Anthony Keeton, (# 13) is a 5’9”, 150 lb. sophomore quarterback and defensive back. He is a great scout team/practice player. He really made the team better with his play on the scout team where he played quarterback. He has done a great job all season!”
Each of the two weekly award winners received a special T-shirt provided by the two sponsors. Korando Heating and Cooling and Knight Hawk Coal, LLC have stepped up to be the 2025 sponsors of the “Special Teams” and “Practice Player” of the Week Awards for Chester Football.
Coach Belton stated, “I would like to give a special THANK YOU to Korando Heating and Cooling and Knight Hawk Coal, LLC for sponsoring our “Special Teams Player of the Week” program and our “Practice Player of the Week” program.
The awards for Week 7 were announced and presented Thursday October 2 at the weekly team meeting and supper in the CHS Football Offices. This is a weekly event following the Thursday afternoon “Run-Through” practice in preparation for the Friday Night Game of the Week. Congratulations Jackie Bess and Anthony Keeton for being the Week 7 award winners!
Cheser Football player Jackie Bess (#59) is the YellowJacket Football “Special Teams” player of Week 7. Bess, a 6’3″, 230 Lb. junior offensive and defensive lineman, spoiled a Weslin Warriors outside try in a very important place in the game. Anthony Keeton (#13) is the Chester Football “Practice Player of the Week” for Week 7. Keeton, a sophomore quarterback and defensive back, is 5’9″, and 150 Lbs. He is a good scout team member and helps make the varsity players better and more prepared to face their Friday night opponents each week. He has done a great job all season long.
