BP demolishes adjacent building

STE. GENEVIEVE – The northeast corner of Ste. Genevieve Drive and Rozier Street appears a bit different now.

BP has demolished the building just east of their convenience store. Future plans are uncertain, according to Robert Sullivan the city’s community development director. He said the building was in bad shape with the roof falling in.

For now Sullivan said the area will be covered with rock and used for parking.

Eventually, in the next five years, the space may be occupied by a newly remodeled BP store.

A number of different businesses have made the demolished building home over the years. In the early 1990s Lorraines Cakes and Doughnuts was there; in addition Buddy’s Place; Missy’s; and a health foods store, were in the building, along with possible others.
